Sprig is the simple way to send a well-designed greeting card by text or email. No app to download. No fussy envelopes or coins. No cost.

Why we built this

The simple gesture of sending a card online is much harder than it needs to be—accounts to set up before you start, confusing on-site currencies to buy, and costly envelopes no one needs.

And let’s be honest: most of us turn to digital cards when we’re rushed for time. So who needs the added hassle?

Greeting cards are wonderful, but sending one shouldn’t take more than a minute, and it certainly shouldn’t cost anything. So we built the simplest version we could imagine. Just pick a card, write your note, and send a link.

What Sprig is

  • Free. No account needed for your first card, no coins, credits, or stamps, and never a premium tier hiding the good cards.
  • Instant. Pick an occasion, choose a design, write your note, and send a link by text or email. Since it’s coming from you, it’s sure to be delivered to and opened by your recipient.
  • No app. Your card is just a web page. Your recipient taps the link and the card opens.
  • Interactive. Want to see how your card lands? Simply create a free account, and when someone opens your card or leaves a reaction, you’ll be notified.

What Sprig isn’t

  • No tokens, credits, or coins to buy.
  • No unnecessary add-ons like envelopes, liners, or stamps sold separately.

  • No download, and no subscription.

How it works

  1. Pick the occasion. Birthday, thank you, congratulations, get well, or sorry. Just want to tell someone they’re on their mind? Try our popular thinking of you, passed note, and coupon cards. And we also have holiday cards for Father’s Day and Halloween, with more to come.
  2. Choose a card. Modern and witty, or traditional and heartfelt—both in your favorite color.
  3. Write your message. Add who it’s for and who it’s from, preview it at full size, and you’re done.
  4. Send the link. Drop it in a text, email, or WhatsApp.
  5. Enjoy the response. Get notified when your card has been opened and reacted to.

What it costs

Sprig is free. No account required for your first card and no limit on how many you send.

Running it does cost something, though, so if you enjoy the service, there’s always a tip jar. Contributing is always optional, and once you tip, we’ll never ask you again.

Seriously, why is this free?

As is no doubt obvious, much of the heavy lifting was done by AI, guided by the loving hands of design professionals who love to build websites. So it was fun to build. Also, we might have some spite towards the existing paid services.
